Dr. Katrina Ostmeyer
Licensed Behavior Analyst
Dr. Katrina Ostmeyer began her career in behavioral health at 19, when she became an Assistant Teaching Parent at The Achievement Place for Boys. At this time, she also started her first clinical practicum working with children with autism at the University of Kansas as part of her degree program. After finishing her BGS in Psychology and Applied Behavior Analysis, she completed her MA in Psychology at Washburn University and engaged in a 2 year assistantship and internship with the Kansas City Center for Anxiety Treatment (KCCAT) in Overland Park, KS. She completed her Ph.D. in Psychology in 2014 from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Her pre-doctoral internship included time at The University of Kansas Center for Child and Health and Development, including a Leadership in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) fellowship and additional time at Integrated Behavioral Technologies (IBT), a not-for-profit agency specializing in home and community based services for children with developmental and behavioral disorders. These and other training opportunities allowed Dr. Ostmeyer to specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of individuals in a variety of areas including intellectual and developmental disabilities such as autism, externalizing disorders such as oppositional defiant disorder and attention-deficit and hyperactivity disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorders, and anxiety disorders. Dr. Ostmeyer accepted a position as the Director of Community Research and Clinical Services at IBT upon graduation in 2014 and advanced to the position of Associate Executive Director in 2015. Within a few years she realized that her administrative position continued to pull her away from the clinical work and research that she loved. She moved from this position in August 2018 to focus on research and practice.
